Man hospitalized after sustaining gunshot wound at local gun club

LAREDO, TX. (KGNS) - A man is taken to a Laredo hospital after sustaining a gunshot wound.
The incident happened on Tuesday at around 4:30 p.m. at the Arena Gun Club located at 6501 Arena Boulevard.
According to the Laredo Police Department, they are investigating if the discharge was accidental
The 45-year-old man was transported to the hospital in critical condition.
Woman arrested after crash near Border Patrol processing facility

LAREDO, TX. (KGNS) - A woman is facing charges following a crash near a U.S. Border Patrol processing center Tuesday morning.
The incident happened at around 4:45 a.m. Tuesday near the facility located at 7200 U.S. Highway 83.
According to Laredo Police, the driver, identified as Destiny Rae Rajewich, 30, allegedly crashed her vehicle near the processing facility.
She was arrested and charged with DWI and resisting arrest
LAREDO, Tex. (KGNS) -The Webb County Republican party is asking the community to gather in support of President Donald Trump.
According to the vice-chair of the organization, the event is happening on Tuesday, April 4th at 6:00 pm 5517 McPherson Rd.
Supporters are encouraged to bring flags and Trump signs.

Remembering Selena on the 28th anniversary of her death

LAREDO, Tx (KGNS) - Friday marks the 28th anniversary of the tragic murder of the Queen of Tejano, Selena.
Selena Quintanilla-Perez was shot and killed by her fan club president Yolanda Saldivar at a Days Inn Hotel in Corpus Christi in 1995.
The Grammy Award-winning singer was just 23-years-old.
Known to many as the “Queen of Tejano music”, her contributions to music and fashion made her one of the most celebrated Mexican American entertainers of the late 20th century.
Fans continue to visit Seaside Memorial Park in Corpus where the singer was laid to rest.
A biographical movie and Netflix TV series both display Selena’s life before her death.
LAREDO, TX. (KGNS) - While we are a week away from the Easter holidays, our Mexican counterparts are already celebrating and you can see the flow of people traveling to our bridges.
On Friday, U.S. Customs and Border Protection opened additional lanes at International Bridge Two near the old import lot to help with the Easter holiday bridge traffic.
Officials will open the bridge up as needed depending on the level of traffic.
CBP can open three to four lanes depending on the volume of traffic.
Officials are advising the traveling public to prepare before traveling out of town.
