WENATCHEE, Wash. (Gray News) – A ceiling collapsed at a historic movie theater in Washington state, which left behind a mess but thankfully no injuries.

According to Wenatchee Valley Firefighters, the ceiling collapse happened inside a theater at Liberty Cinema on Feb. 26.

Firefighters said only two people were inside the theater at the time watching “Captain America: Brave New World.” Fortunately, they were not injured.

Video of the aftermath shows pieces of ceiling, dust and debris covering the auditorium seats.

“Talk about an interactive movie experience... just not the kind you want!” the department wrote in a Facebook post.

Firefighters said the cause of the collapse remains under investigation.

According to historians, Liberty Cinema opened as a theater in 1919 and later expanded, now showing movies on eight screens.

(CNN) - New Barbie dolls are coming to celebrate International Women’s Day.

The eight new Barbies celebrate the power of friendship.

According to Mattel, women are more likely to achieve happiness and success if they have close and supportive friends.

The dolls honoring this notion include U.S. Olympic gold medalists Jordan Chiles and Jade Carey, British actresses and friends Hannah Waddingham and Juno Temple, Australian Grand Slam tennis champions Evonne Goolagong Cawley and Ash Barty, and Brazilian actress Paola Antonini and the real woman she portrayed in a T.V. series, Kelen Ferreira.

This all comes after Mattel already introduced dolls based on Alicia Keys and her recording engineer Ann Mincieli.

LAREDO, Tex. (KGNS) - To reduce vaping on campus, Alexander High School has implemented a plan to bring those numbers down.

On Saturday, March 1, gates were put in place around restrooms on campus. Throughout the day, some restrooms will be closed while others remain open.

With 2,400 students on campus, Alexander High School’s Assistant Principal, Joseph Byrd, says the plan was inspired by another school district north of i-35.

“It’s something that I saw in Dilley High School, what they were doing is closing off certain bathrooms with these gates. The whole point was to reduce the whole flow of traffic or have any issues, so I thought it would be a good idea to implement in our school,” Byrd said.

The gates were put in place last week, and since then, Byrd claims parents have been receptive to them.

LAREDO, Tex. (KGNS) - Those in the trade industry are already bracing for the reality of President Donald Trump’s tariffs.

While some of the United States' biggest trading partners were hit with 25% tariffs on most imports, the President of the National Brokers Association (NBA), Jose David Gonzalez, says that many steps in the trading process remain unclear.

Adding that they’re going to have to work with the clients to make them pay their duties upfront, the cost of which he expects to be passed on to the consumer.

Items like cars, fruits and electronics are just some of the things heading for a higher price tag.

Hours before the tariffs went into effect, we interviewed U.S. Customs Broker Arturo Dominguez, who explained that there was a flurry of activity in the days before the tariffs were put in place.

“In one week, we saw a little bit over 60k trucks between Laredo and Colombia bridge, so it’s pretty high. I feel that between January and February, there’s going to be a big amount of truck difference,” Dominguez said.

Gonzalez predicts a decrease in traffic through Laredo’s port of entry in the coming weeks, particularly impacting small to midsize importers.

Brokers tell us that in the last weeks, they saw many of their customers attempting to build up their inventory ahead of the tariffs.
