LAREDO, Tx. (KGNS) - A local group is inviting the community to take a step back in time during its upcoming car show.

This Saturday, the “Estos Vatos” Car Club will hold its ‘Bordertown Get Down’ in the heart of downtown Laredo.

Over 100 vintage vehicles are expected to be parked right in front of the old Plaza theater located on Hidalgo Street.

Tony Reyes with Estos Vatos Car Club said it’s a great event for the older community to remember what it was like to grow up in Laredo back in the day.

“We wanted people to go back into like the good old days to see the stores that were there when they were young and to reminisce,” said Reyes. “To bring the family so they can tell the stories and when they see our vehicles every vehicle that we have has a story because people will go up there and say, ‘I remember my uncle had a car like that and we used to go to the movies, we used to go to the border town theater’ and stuff like that.”

Reyes adds there will be music, food vendors, and activities for the whole family to enjoy.

It starts Saturday at 5 p.m. and will last until 9 p.m.

It’s free and open to the public.
