LAREDO, Tex. (KGNS) - The Laredo City Council is meeting Monday evening, March 3, to discuss the city’s 270th anniversary and a property easement to the State of Texas for a barrier.
One item on the agenda is the anniversary celebration. District 3 Council Member Melissa Cigarroa hopes the city can work with the Webb County Heritage Foundation to make the celebration bigger and involve the community.
Another item is about giving the state property for a barrier structure. Cigarroa thinks more information is needed and hopes it will be shared during the meeting. “There are currently zero crossings in the Laredo sector,” she said. “But whatever measures have been in place, they’re working.”
Cigarroa also supports a virtual barrier.
The meeting started at 5:30 p.m. at City Hall Chambers and is open to the public.
